The last two weeks have been crazy busy for us, but super fun. The two main events we had were James and Janna's engagement party (we stayed away from calling it a "couples shower" for the sake of the boys) and Janna's lingerie party.

Janna and James are two of our really good friends from Redeemer. They are getting married in two weeks. We can't wait to see what God does in their lives once they are united. Thanks for your friendship guys- we love you!

3 wonderful months!

July 19, 2008

"it's like ra-in on your wedding day!"

I can't believe how fast time flies! Chase and I have been married for three months today! It has been such a wonderful adventure so far.

Some of the things that WE love and have learned about marriage so far are:
  • We never have to say good bye at night
  • He/she is always there when I wake up
  • It is sanctifying (reveals our sin & shows us our desperate need for our Saviour)
  • It is encouraging
  • You always have a best friend around
  • You can sit around in your under ware and it is ok!
  • You way is not always "the way"
  • Chase likes his ketchup out of the fridge- i have learned to submit to this :0)
  • "Things run more smoothly in the evening, if I make the bed in the morning." - Chase
I am so blessed to be married to Chase- we both have a lot to learn and lots to grow in, but I am confident that with Christ as the center of our marriage we will be just fine. Here's to 3 months baby!

homecoming

Amy (larling) & me!

bff... me, bonnie, amy
watching the 2nd half with Chase! (we won by the way!!)

Last weekend I got to return to the field and dance/cheer the first half of the Nebraska vs. TECH Homecoming football game. Amy and I came out of retirement and quickly realized we needed to return! ha ha We had a great time. I still miss dancing, but I think I am finally ok with no longer cheer/dancing on the field. Last weekend did make me realize that I want to start working on getting my flexibility back and look into taking a dance class somewhere- anyone want to join me? :0)

full of surprises

i love this picture!

This weekend was Chase's 25th birthday (10/11) and I decided to surprise him. Normally this is not a strong point of mine- keeping surprises- but I think I finally pulled it off this weekend.

Surprise #1: Friday night I took Chase to Cagles Steakhouse for dinner (he thought it was going to be just the two of us), but his mom and dad drove in that morning to come surprise him for dinner (Aubrey came too!). {this one he was real surprised about}
Surprise #2:  After dinner we went home to a house full of friends wishing Chase a happy birthday, cake, cookies and drinks! {this one he kinda had an idea about...}

We had a great time and feel so blessed by our friends and family that we are so undeserving of. Thanks to all of you that helped bake and pull off the surprises of the weekend!

It was also Brooke's birthday this week. She came in town on Saturday so we could celebrate with her. I am so thankful for my big sister- she has such a sweet heart and care for people.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOKIE AND CHASEY! I LOVE YOU BOTH!

instant family...

Miss Haley Mae (we have the same middle name!)

I think one of my favorite things about marriage is gaining new family members. I am super blessed because my "new" family is amazing. I could not have asked for better parent-in-laws, sibling-in-laws, and nieces and nephews! They welcomed me into the family with open arms the day I met them.... I thank the Lord everyday for them.

Upon marring Chase I gained 2 nieces and 3 (almost 4 w/Bennett) nephews! they are so much fun. Above are a few pictures from last time I was in Dallas. (except for Haley and I - that was from 2 summers ago- I didn't get any with her this last trip) I love you all... thanks for allowing me to be your aunt!

p.s. Sherry and Scott I hope this pictures help with homesickness- we love and miss you guys! ENJOY!
